Shrimpnose is burgeoning LA via Minneapolis producer Riley Smithson making visceral experimental electronic and beat music. He melds beautiful instrumentation with a dark, brooding undertone of struggle throughout his music. Over the last year, releasing on influential labels like Blue Note, Brainfeeder, Dome of Doom, Chillhop and finding a permanent home with Friends of Friends, Shrimpnose has cemented himself as a producer to watch. From somber hip hop instrumentals, elaborate electronic soundbeds to incredibly potent vocal features, the album explores the light and dark of feelings and expresses them in earnest. Including a slew of guests like Canadian indie alt-pop auteurs maxime., Lhasa Petik and Afternoon Bike Ride, lofi/electronic beat scholars Somni, quickly,quickly, and Arbor as well as anti-pop rappers Bobby Raps and BLOOD $MOKE BODY, the album tells the story of feeling Under Fire, but not being buried by it.
